To Create new folder in root directory in mac

Open the terminal window by press command + space and type terminal

Above screen will appear on your mac system,

Now type cd on terminal and press enter

apple@appurunoMacBook-Pro ~ % cd

After it create folder by command mkdir

Ex. apple@appurunoMacBook-Pro ~ % mkdir Personel

You can create many folders as per your need

Now type command open with dot, It will open folder in finder

Now you can drag and drop folder to left side panel

You can add all folders to your side panel

Also you can rename created folder name to different one via right click
